Job Description
Finance Associate will join the Finance Cadetship Programme (“FCP”) which is a one-year programme targets for undergraduate students in the areas of accounting, finance or business management who are interested to gain work experience in a range of job functions from reporting, financial planning & analysis, treasury, finance operations, shared services to construction accounting.
FCP aims to complement the academic learning with on-the-job training, by working with experienced finance professionals who will provides students with coaching and actual work exposure, allowing them to develop both technical knowhow and soft management skills.
You will be responsible for:
- assist the different teams with the following duties:
- Reporting – Process journal entries in the ERP system; prepare supporting schedules for month-end closing; assist the year-end audit and annual report preparation;
- Financial Planning & Analysis – Assist to prepare financial reports and analysis; assist to prepare budget and forecast;
- Treasury – Process payments and manage deposit placements; update accounting records for bank transactions; prepare bank reconciliation; assist to prepare cashflow forecast and treasury reports;
- Finance Operations – Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions; prepare supporting schedules for month-end closing; assist the preparation of financial report and analysis;
- Shared Services – Process revenue transactions, from ticketing, venue hiring to commercial leasing; assist the compilation of fixed assets register for around $18 billion worth of assets;
- Construction Accounting – Process payments; prepare supporting schedules to track construction costs against contract and budget; assist to prepare budget and forecast.
You should:
- be an undergraduate student in Finance, Accounting or relevant discipline;
- have strong willingness to learn and good team spirit;
- possess good Excel skills;
- have good analytical problem solving and high learning agility with a growth mindset;
- be required to work regularly for one full day or two half days per work week (Monday to Friday) at the office of WKCDA; and
- be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese with communication.
