Job Description
FINANCE OFFICE
AssistantAccountant (Accounting Operations Section) (Ref. 240521009)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) handle daily payroll operations, including inputting data, processing payments and journals for payroll and staff claims, following up with various departments on payment matters, handling staff enquiries and dealing with matters on tax filing and clearance of staff;
(b) prepare staff cost reports and assist in the compilation of analytical reports;
(c) assist in the enhancement and implementation of the payroll, staff claims and related payments systems;
(d) handle general office administration; and
(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance and his/her delegates.
Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
(a) a recognised degree in Accounting or related disciplines; or
a recognised diploma/certificate plus at least one year of work experience in accounting, auditing and other related fields, with experience in payroll operations and/or staff benefits being an advantage; or
a combination of results in five HKDSE subjects of Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects / “Attained” in Applied Learning subjects / Grade E in Other Language subjects, and the five subjects must include English Language, Chinese Language, Mathematics, and preferably Business, Accounting & Financial Studies / Practical Accounting for SMEs, plus at least five years of relevant work experience; or
five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Mathematics, and preferably Principles of Accounts, plus at least five years of relevant work experience;
(b) good computer literacy, especially in using Microsoft Office software (including Word and Excel);
(c) a fair command of both written and spoken English and Chinese; and
(d) good communication and interpersonal skills.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
