Temporary Clerk III (Telephone Operator)
Rank: Clerk III
Department/ Hospital: Patient Services, Administration Division, Kowloon Hospital
Pay: HK$15,665 per month
Key Responsibilities:
1. To operate hospital’s telephone system (PABX) and all related telecommunication systems.
2. To answer internal and external telephone calls and enquiries from patients and / or the public; and convey to the appropriate personnel correctly and efficiently.
3. To disseminate the important and urgent messages to an individual and/ or a group of designated personnel through the telecommunication systems during contingency situations in an efficient and orderly manner.
4. To monitor hospital alarms and follow instruction to inform concerned parties.
5. To handle counter work and admission registration.
6. To provide support to clinical resuscitation team and hospital drill.
7. To perform the clerical duties in Telephone Operator Office
8. To perform medical record retrieval, assembling, loan, return and disposal.
9. To perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s)
Entry Requirements:
1.(a) Passes in 5 subjects in the HKCEE including English Language (Syllabus B), Chinese Language and Mathematics, or equivalent. OR(b) 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education attaining the level specified below:- Level 2 in English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics; And- Level 2 in New Senior Secondary subjects/ "Attained" in Applied Learning subjects/ Grade E in Other Language subjects; or equivalent.
2. Ability to perform typing, word processing and/or Chinese word processing
Preferable Attributes/Exposure:
1. Relevant experience in the operation of telecommunication systems.
2. Relevant experience in customer services and clerical supports.
3. Knowledge of common office automation (e.g. operation of fax machine) and PC applications (e.g. MS Office Applications)
4. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Knowledge of other dialects (e.g. Mandarin) in the light of individual job
requirement.
Remarks:
2. Serving staff who have completed F.5/S.5 or equivalent and have 2 years’ clerical experience within HA may also be considered.
3.Candidate appointed on Temporary terms will be up to 31 March 2025.
