Job Summary
Strategy
- This position plays a key part in driving, designing, and delivering the bank’s digital authentication and fraud prevention capabilities in Hong Kong. Working closely with Local / Group Risk and Fraud teams to set the digital authentication and fraud prevention strategy. This position will also work closely with the Digital Onboarding team to ensure that the customer authentication and fraud prevention controls used during onboarding, digital banking registration and other digital journeys are sufficient.
Business
- SME for the transformation of Digital Authentication within Digital Banking. The successful candidate will lead discussions to build a seamless customer experience for authentication while enhancing the Bank’s digital fraud identification and prevention capabilities.
- Implement bank wide initiatives to ensure digital authentication and fraud risk and controls are adequately in place. Balancing the solutions between tactical and strategic deliveries to quickly deliver to meet the ever-changing market and regulatory environment
- Working in partnership with product colleagues for new digital products and services journeys to include appropriate authentication controls
- Ability to clearly articulate and communicate new functions and controls introduced and its relevant impact to stakeholders and customers
- Builds a clear roadmap of key capabilities needed to support growth across the business for the end-to-end management of authentication and fraud controls
- Ongoing monitoring of the latest digital identity and fraud trends both internally and externally. Redefine monitoring rules and solutions to protect our customers and the bank. Research the wider industry for new and innovative solutions that could benefit both the Bank and its customers.
- Identify areas for improvement and automation. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness and resolve control issues by driving out enhancements in fraud/operations
- Design communications to educate our customers of the ever-changing MO of fraudsters and how the bank’s enhancements are helping to safeguard their assets
- Collaborate with third party vendors and service providers to implement and enhance controls and regularly evaluate vendor performance and look for improvements
Governance, Processes and Policy
- Ensure the control measures in place are sufficiently meeting both internal and external standards
- Manage the digital strategies and policies implementation across applications relevant to authentication and authorization to ensure compliance of firm wide controls framework, governance, and procedures
- Engagement with internal and external review as necessary including HKMA and other regulatory and government bodies.
- Define and document the process flows for authentication and fraud prevention and evaluate the impact from specific system/business changes on the overall customer journey and operational flow
- Delivery of projects in accordance with internal project implementation framework

Qualifications
- At least 8 years of work experience, within which with at least 3 years of experience in retail digital
- Preferred candidate with experience of designing, integrating and implementing customer authentication and fraud detection systems such as TransUnion, Zoloz, Tradelink, iAM Smart, Threatmetrix and Falcon;
- Strong knowledge in digital identity, digital authentication, and digital fraud prevention capabilities
- Strong knowledge in the local digital banking landscape and capabilities
- Prior experience of working with start-ups and Fintechs
- Able to think out-of-the-box, with a can-do attitude
- A natural drive to excel and performance driven
- Proven track record in managing virtual teams to deliver projects
- Exceptional communication skills especially in written Chinese and English
