This role is based in Lever Style Shenzhen office.
Responsibilities:
1. Work closely with Product Heads & Design teams to source and develop new yarn.
2. Partner with yarn mills to develop new yarn. Guide and support factories on knitdown, improve the knitting technique with factories while managing the sweater production cost.
3. Source & onboard new yarn mills who can offer improved yarn at the right price.
4. Evaluate supplier capability and participate in negotiations with suppliers.
5. Risk assessment and precaution to ensure materials meet the brand specification and testing requirement.
6. Evaluate and monitor the performance of suppliers / mills to ensure yarn quality standard.
7. Create a yarn database of our current yarn, updating all the yarn specs and test reports.
Requirements:
1. English as working language.
2. In-depth knowledge of sweater and yarn. Good understanding of knitting structure, costing, and workmanship.
3. Sound negotiation and interpersonal skills. Frequent business travel to different yarn mills or sweater manufacturing factories.
4. Well-versed in MS Office.
5. College degree in Textile/Apparel/Fashion discipline.
6. 8-10 years of experience in yarn sourcing and development.
