Job Description

M+ is a museum dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design and architecture, moving image, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. In Hong Kong’s West Kowloon Cultural District, we are building one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world, with a bold ambition to establish ourselves as one of the world’s leading cultural institutions. Our aim is to create a new kind of museum that reflects our unique time and place, a museum that builds on Hong Kong’s historic balance of the local and international to define a distinctive and innovative voice for Asia’s twenty-first century.

( This is a fixed-term contract position of 2-year with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. )

 

You will be responsible for:

  • assisting in the preparation and implementation of projects, programmes and events;
  • assisting in the liaison and communication with external parties including contractors, collaborators, school, non-governmental organisation etc;
  • responsible for programme scheduling, roster management and invoice handling;
  • providing administrative and logistic support to daily operation and on-site support;
  • handling enquiries from the public and consolidating survey information; and
  • performing other duties in related to programmes when required.


You should:

  • possess a recognised university degree, preferably in visual arts, fine arts, creative media, education, cultural studies, humanities or other related disciplines;
  • have strong interest in working professionally in the museum field;
  • be a self-starter who is willing to learn and highly organised and detail-oriented;
  • be able to work independently and cooperatively with others in a fast-paced environment;
  • possess strong administrative and project coordination skills is preferred;
  • be able to work on weekends or holidays to support the programmes; and
  • have excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English.
