Job Description
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough due diligence on investors in compliance with relevant anti-money laundering (AML) regulations in jurisdictions such as Hong Kong, Cayman Island, Bermuda, Ireland, and Luxembourg.
- Assess and establish documentation requirements for different types of investors across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region in accordance with global AML and Know Your Customer (KYC) standards.
- Perform comprehensive KYC reviews, including evaluating AML risks, conducting local market and regulatory research, verifying documentation, screening for politically exposed persons (PEP), sanctions, and fraud alerts, escalating AML concerns, facilitating account opening, and updating static data.
- Respond to AML/KYC and account opening inquiries from clients and investors.
- Collaborate and coordinate with internal teams, both locally and globally, such as the Internal Operations Department (IOB), to ensure seamless and high-quality support for clients and investors.
- Adhere to the firm's policies, guidelines, operational procedures, and internal controls to uphold a strong level of professional integrity.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing for system implementations or enhancements.
- Assist in the development and documentation of necessary procedures, policies, and processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in the field of AML/KYC, Risk or Compliance. Transfer Agency experience and Supervisory experience preferrable.
- Sound AML/KYC knowledge, detail oriented and ability to perform independently.
- Ability to identify issues or operational gaps, recommend enhancing measures and effective interpretation / application of operations procedures.
- Good communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle high volume of work while maintaining accuracy.
- Fluent in English and Chinese.
