Our client is a top-tier global financial institution with strong presence worldwide.  As part of their strategic initiatives in the APAC region, the company added a new headcount for a Data Engineer to strengthen their data capability and take part in their data layer / warehouse project.  This role starts off as a 12 months contract, with the view to extend or turn into a permanent headcount.

As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:

• Contribute to enterprise data warehouse project to support the firm's reporting, analytics, and business process enhancement requirements
• Build end-to-end data warehouse from scratch
• Ensure data quality and integrity throughout data warehouse
• Enterprise level data model and data mart design 
• Communicate with business users on data requirement details

To be considered for this role as a Data Engineer, you possess the following:-

• At least years of experience in ETL / data pipeline or any data platforms
• Experience in data processing and data modelling
• SQL is a must, with knowledge in SQL optimization
• Knowledge in any data warehouse/ lake/ platform, and data modeling
• Knowledge Python and data related libraries, e.g. Pandas, Polars, Numpy
• Able to write clean and maintainable code
• Good communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Fluency in Cantonese. Proficient in English and/or Mandarin is a plus
