Job Description
M+ Internship Programme 2024/2025 (Summer Intake) – Development (Museum Development) (Ref: R5409)
The M+ Internship Programme, supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong, is a unique opportunity for those who are interested in developing a career in the museum field. You will work closely with the M+ team full time for a period of one year, gaining both practical and theoretical training. This intake will take place from August 2024 to August 2025.
The Development Intern will support the Individual and Institutional Giving team with prospect research, administrative tasks, translation work, on-site VIP event support, donor database management and any ad-hoc projects as they arise.
You will be able to:
- conduct prospect research reports through WealthX and online materials
- assisting administrative tasks such as mass mailings, drafting and translating materials, monitoring event calendars and RSVPs, draft agreements and sponsor proposals, and process any necessary paperwork related to artwork acquisitions and donations;
- Support major exhibition opening receptions, private tours, and lounge talks on-site;
- coordinate with other departments – including but not limited to membership, curatorial, museum director’s office, events, collections and exhibitions, finance, and IT teams – as needed to accomplish the above
- other Ad-hoc tasks
You need to:
- be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region;
- possess a recognised university degree or equivalent qualification in administration, marketing, journalism, communications, social sciences or related subjects in the humanities;
- have excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin);
- have strong interest in learning more about contemporary visual art and culture
- be proactive, diligent, highly organized, detail-oriented and comfortable taking on tasks independently and cooperatively working within a team;
- possess some relevant working experience in commercial corporations and museums or nonprofit institutions is preferred but not required.
