Job Description

M+ Internship Programme 2024/2025 (Summer Intake) – Museum Business (Ref: R5404)  

The M+ Internship Programme, supported by The Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Hong Kong, is a unique opportunity for those who are interested in developing a career in the museum field. You will work closely with the M+ team full time for a period of one year, gaining both practical and theoretical training. This intake will take place from August 2024 to August 2025.   

The Museum Business Intern will sit in the Museum Business Team and will support initiatives and projects including the visitor research coordination, analysis and reporting; industrial research and benchmark; budget and forecast exercise; and operational improvement projects. The role presents an excellent opportunity to gain first-hand insights into project planning, analysis and management in one of the largest museums of modern and contemporary visual culture in the world.  

You will be able to:

  • build positive working relationships with stakeholders from different teams of the museum;  
  • gather, organise and analyse qualitative and quantitative data;  
  • draft and design engaging communications including presentations and project updates;   
  • conduct on-site and desktop research on key strategic initiatives;    
  • develop and showcase independent project management skills; 
  • perform other ad hoc duties as and when required by the supervisor.  

You need to:

  • be a permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative region;  
  • possess a recognised university degree or equivalent qualification, preferred in management, business, cultural studies or sociology;   
  • have interest in working professionally in the arts and cultural industries;  
  • have inquiring mind with an ability to express opinions and insights;  
  • have good communication and organisational skills:   
  • be a team player with interpersonal skills;   
  • have a good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin).
