Hong Kong Shue Yan University is inviting applications for a full-time Assistant IT Officer position. The appointee will provide technical support services to staff and students, and assist in managing the digital laboratories and support faculty members in using new technologies for teaching, learning, and research.

Responsibilities:

• Provide frontline IT support for staff and students, and the daily operation and activities in the Computing Services Centre and the University;
• Install and manage the PCs and servers hardware and software;
• Provide technical support and advice to faculty members and students, including instruction on the proper handling of equipment; 
• Assist in laboratory visits and provide trainings; 
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment;
• Manage the daily operations of the lab, such as laboratory booking, equipment booking and stocktaking of laboratory consumables;
• Provide field services to support the University’s event; and 
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence, gaming, VR/AR, or related disciplines from a recognized university or technical institute;
• At least 1 years with relevant experience;
• An effective command of both Chinese and English;
• Good interpersonal and communication skills;
• Self-motivation and the ability to communicate with lab users.
• Strong technical troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities under pressure;

Salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience. Candidate with more experience will be considered as IT Officer, candidate with less experience will be considered as IT Technician.
