Job Description
Guoco Group Limited("Guoco") (Stock Code: 53), listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited, is an investment holding and investment management company with the vision of achieving long term sustainable returns for its shareholders and creating prime capital value. Guoco's operating subsidiary companies and investment activities are principally located in Hong Kong, the PRC, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Guoco has four core businesses, namely, Principal Investment; Property Development and Investment; Hospitality and Leisure Business; and Financial Services.
Guoco Group Limited is now looking for a high caliber candidate for the position of Group Chief Financial Officer. The major responsibilities of the role are listed below.
- Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the Group
- Lead and manage the overall finance and accounting function at the Group level, including financial reporting and consolidation, financial planning and analysis, tax planning, treasury, risk management, regulatory compliance, internal control, business development/ M&A, corporate and project financing, and investor relations.
- Be a gatekeeper at the Group level to ensure corporate finance policies, programs and initiatives are observed at both business unit and subsidiary levels including cost control, finance data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Act as a business partner and finance functional leader and work with the Group CEO and CEOs and CFOs of operating business companies to drive business growth by establishing the 3-year plan with medium to long term perspectives and develop business specific KPI sets, progress tracking and summary scorecards
- Lead and propose initiatives in efficiency and business process re-engineering for profitability improvement at Group and at the Business Unit level
- Work with Group CEO to oversee and manage the business development process and its due diligence in terms of the pre-and post-M&A, project investment, strategic alliance and new market entry.
- Be a profit source that through effective analysis and information, controllership and cost control of tax planning, treasury planning/management including driving strategies for bank relationships, FX hedging, loan restructuring and working capital/ cashflow optimisation etc
- Be the main liaison officer in charge with professional firms and business associates like tax specialists and auditors as well as the investment community such as equities analysts, fund managers, bankers, financial journalists and alike.
Requirements
- University degree in Finance & Accounting or related discipline with professional qualification in CPA or equivalent
- Minimum of 15 years of financial management experience, of which at least 10 years at the top financial leadership position for scalable manufacturing conglomerates at the regional if not at global level.
- Financial leadership exposure to the locally listed company is ideal, while a solid regional financial track record with MNCs will also be considered.
- Proven business partnering experience with the top team and the Board is essential.
- Solid experience in managing large and complex financial and accounting teams at the global, matrix-reporting environment is important.
- Cultural sensitivity, influencing, negotiation and communication skills, as well as genuine interests in understanding the issues of Business operating companies being operating in different countries will be critical.
- Excellent business acumen and exceptional financial leadership are prerequisites. He or she should be strategic, goal-orientated, firm and action-oriented.
- Possess strong corporate presence and unquestionable integrity/creditability, be a strong communicator/influencer with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
