Job Description

The Department

The Club’s Football Betting business is one of the largest bookmaking operations in the world with annual Turnover and Gross Margin in excess of HK$140B and HK$18B respectively. Set up in 2003, the Football Trading team has evolved to cover fixed odds racing operations, data analysis, sports integrity, system and product development, as well as providing and training these services overseas.

The Job
You will:

  • Formulates and communicates odds for events by:
    • Compiling odds for events
    • Communicating odds and information 
  • Maximises profitability of event betting and monitors customer activity in regards to profitability by:
    • Identifying and executing prices changes
    • Analysing profitability of event betting
    • Monitoring customer performance for immediate trends and season profitability
    • Reporting on market and/or product profitability and recommend action to improve the business
  • Conducts customer analysis, researches, and manage projects by:
    • Analysing customer data to identify trends and insights, and categorizing customers into different types.
    • Conducting comprehensive research to better understand industry shifts, customer preferences, and product profitability.
    • Executing projects aimed at addressing specific business questions or challenges.
    • Reporting findings and making recommendations to enhance customer engagement and business strategies.
  • Undertake other duties, such as research work, cross department projects, etc., as assigned by the supervisor

 

About You
You should have:

  • Bachelor degree with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Relevant experience in the football betting industry with prior exposure to sports trading management and fixed-odds markets compilation is preferred
  • Computer literacy and capability in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel
  • Extensive knowledge of football and preferably good working knowledge of other major sports
  • Knowledgeable about football and other major sports and able to explain odds
  • Ability to stay calm and concentrate for long periods of time under pressure
  • Flexibility and ability to work the hours required including nights and weekends
     

Fresh graduates will also be considered

Comprehensive training in football odds compilation and risk management will be provided. A flexible approach to working hours is required for the position as working during evenings, weekends and public holidays is necessary to meet the challenges of the job.
