Responsibilities
- Plan and manage capital works, alteration, addition and improvement (AA&I) and minor work projects on campus and related off-campus locations
- Prepare designs and proposals for campus development and improvement projects
- Review and evaluate design / technical proposals by consultants and contractors
- Liaise with the Government departments and project stakeholders in matters relating to campus projects
- Prepare tender documents for consultancies and works contracts
- Monitor and control project progress, and supervise the performance of consultants and contractors to maintain a high level of safety and quality standards
- Conduct regular audit to ensure compliance of statutory requirements, service and works qualities
- Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
Requirements
- A recognized Degree or equivalent qualifications in Structural Engineering or related disciplines
- Member of The Hong Kong Institute of Engineers (HKIE) or equivalent
- Possession of Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate (Green Card)
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills, self-motivated
- Proficiency in computer skills with knowledge of software such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of Building Information Modelling or other 3D modelling software is advantageous
- Good communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal English and Chinese
- Experience in managing construction site activities will be an advantage
- Work experience in universities / higher education institutions will be an advantage
Candidates with less/more experience will also be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
