Job Description

Applications are invited for appointment as Executive Officer (EO) in Research Services of the Registry (Ref.: 527275), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should have a good University degree with at least 4 years’ solid administrative work experience preferably in the education sector.  They should have excellent communication skills, inclusive of a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and IT competency with proficiency in MS Office.  Applicants should also be good team players with excellent interpersonal skills.  They should be meticulous, organised, self-motivated, and possess a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to exercise good judgement and multitask under pressure and tight schedules with minimal supervision.  Experience in/knowledge of data processing/management would be an advantage.

The appointee will support the following activities/initiatives of Research Services, duties of which include but are not limited to (i) applications/proposals vetting; (ii) committee work; (iii) liaison with internal and external stakeholders; and (iv) event management:

  • Research Integrity and Research Ethics;
  • Research Data Management;
  • Research Grants, both internal and external;
  • Research-related System;
  • Research Assessment; and
  • Other duties or ad-hoc projects assigned by the Section Head.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary.
