Job Description

What you'll do:

• Conduct IP searches using patent analytic database and handle IP enquires
• Organise IP consultations and training sessions
• Organise promotional activities and events to promote IP protection and commericialisation
• Assist in the establishment of a new IP centre, including but not limited to planning the opening and establishment plan for the centre
• Liase with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the set-up of the IP centre
• Liaise closely with government authorities to ensure that operational policies and procedures are implemented in accordance with the requirements
• Manage and administer an IP related Government funding programme that encourages local companies and inventors to protect their intellectual property through patent registration
• Assist with other ad hoc tasks as and when required by the team

You'll be a good fit if you have/are:

• Bachelor’s degree from disciplines such as Law, Compliance, Science, Information management, or public administration equivalent
• Qualified patent attorney, with minimum 5-year experience in Patent or IP practice
• Experience in conducting patent searches and analysis Good analytical, writing, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills
• Mature, self-motivated, well-organized, meticulous and result-oriented
• Good command of English, Putonghua and Cantonese

HKPC will take into consideration both the quantitative and qualitative requirements of the post when selecting the suitable candidates.  A competitive salary package commensurate with academic qualifications and experience will be offered.  The successful candidates will be employed on a fixed-term contract basis, which is renewable subject to appointee’s performance and the Council’s development needs.
