Job Description

Applications are invited for appointment as IT Technician in the Sau Po Centre on Ageing within the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref.:527298), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
 
Applicants must have a degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering with minimum 2 years of relevant post qualification work experience. Proven track record in IT operations and a good understanding of software development practices such as Agile framework. Relevant experience in software / web development (frontend / backend), with knowledge of dynamic interface and microservice design will be a plus. Experience in RDBMS or NoSQL such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc. Experience in working with server, security or data migration will be an added advantage. Familiar with Agile / SDLC Project Management will be an added advantage. They should possess strong sense of responsibility, effective communication, analytical and problem – solving skills, and willingness to learn. English and Chinese proficiency (including Cantonese) is required.
 
The appointee will support daily office operation and initiatives of the centre by providing IT and technical support services and development of mission-critical online platform for our community projects. He/She will collaborate with University IT Services and vendors, our community partners and perform any other duties as assigned by centre director.
 
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview and/or skills test.
