Job Description
Purpose:
To contribute to the Charities Department in achieving the Club’s vision as the world class charity and community benefactor solving Metropolitan social issues with innovations.
Scope and Role:
Reporting to the Senior Managers/Deputy Executive Managers, Youth Development and Poverty Alleviation (“YD&PA”) or his/her delegate, the job holder is responsible:
- To support donation requests and carrying out grant making functions under YD&PA team
- To assess and review donation applications, and support preparation of approval papers;
- To conduct research on social issues and new initiatives to meet the community needs;
- To plan and monitor implementation of Charities projects, and to liaise and maintain professional relationships with external partners.
The Job
- Assist Senior Managers/ Deputy Executive Managers in supporting donation requests and carrying out grant making functions including but not limited to research and issue analysis study, preparation of reports and findings, and maintenance of records for the Club's management team and Trust's review.
- Assist the development of grant making plan including the tasks, deliverables, schedules and resources required, and maintain a repository of documentations for audit purposes, including but not limited to funding proposals, agreements, progress reports, and project publications etc.
- To conduct research on social issues and new initiatives, to support development of new projects or theme/issue strategies. Activities include literature review, industry/sector data analysis, in-house or externally managed surveys and focus groups, discussion with potential project partners, etc.
- Assist in monitoring the approved projects to ensure that they are implemented and completed according to schedule, pledged output and within the original agreed scope and budget. Ensure consistencies and accuracies in statistical / financial / progress reports and project updates. Assess project change requests (virements) and prepare documentations for internal approvals.
- To assist in reviewing event invitations by grantees as part of the ongoing project monitoring process of approved projects, draft articles and speeches for publicity events, support PR / media initiatives.
About You
- A Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences or communication with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, preferably with exposure to NGOs, Government, policy research, or public and social service settings
- Experience in dealing/working with government, NGOs, education sector and professional bodies would be an added advantage
- Good project development and management skills, as well as ability to work/collaborate with a number of parties including government departments, NGOs, academics and people of various levels
- Knowledge in analytic skills, proactive in idea creation and passionate in children and youth related topics
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (word, powerpoint, excel at the minimum)
- Data analytics and evaluation will be an advantage

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualification and experience.
