Key Responsibilities

1.     To assist Allied Health Professionals to:

-           prepare and carry out treatment activities for physically / mentally ill patients;

-           teach and supervise patients in related skills during therapeutic activities;

-           carry out therapeutic assessments, remedial activities and rehabilitation groups;

-           maintenance of treatment / workshop areas, equipment, tools and materials conducive to treatment.

2.     To provide technical assistance and support to Allied Health professionals in:

-           equipment operation, maintenance & cleansing, and in making or adjusting therapeutic devices;

-           running of rehabilitation programmes and therapeutic training groups.

3.     To perform reception duties and provide administrative support to the department:

-        manage patient record system;

-        retrieve patient data from in-house computer systems;

-        assist in inventory control and procurement process.

4.     To perform independent operation of computer and data input for rehabilitation and clinical management purpose.

5.     To perform any other duties or rotation to other Allied Health Departments as assigned by supervisors.

Entry Requirements

1.         Completed F.5 / S.5 or equivalent. (Please note Remarks 2)

2.         Completed structured departmental training. (Please note Remarks 3)

3.         Good command of English and Chinese, written and spoken.

Preferred Attributes / Exposure

1.         With work experience in healthcare / physiotherapy / occupational therapy / exercise therapy setting.

2.         Obtained certificate in Physiotherapy / Rehabilitation Assistant training / Health Care Assistant training / Occupational Therapy Assistant training or equivalent.

3.         Knowledge of basic computer operations and data processing.

4.         Able to work under pressure, good interpersonal skills, self-motivated and with a strong sense of responsibility.

5.         Process technical skill in metal work, woodwork or tailoring work.

2.         Serving staff who have completed F.3/ S.3 or equivalent and have 2 years’ care related experience within HA may also be considered. Candidates who have completed the JUMP program organized by Hospital Authority are considered to have attained F.3/S.3 level and eligible to apply for this post.

3.         Applicants who do not meet entry requirements (2), if find suitable, will be employed to undergo at least 6 months’ on the job training including the structured departmental training Employment may be terminated if the selected applicant cannot pass the assessment after training.
