The Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Innovative Mind.

It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred more than 1,500 technologies to the industry and has been granted over 1,100 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.

To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s): 

Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain IT network infrastructure and architecture in accordance with the business strategies and security requirements
• Provide technical advice and governance in network infrastructure and security for business and infrastructure projects
• Review and improve network design, core network equipment and systems operation and solve network infrastructure related issues
• Create and maintain documentation of network diagram, network configuration, network topology and service records
• Review technical setup to fulfill regulatory, internal control requirements and ISO 27001, and ISO 9001 requirements
• Manage vendor and service contracts, including all hardware and software maintenance agreements. Initiate contract reviews, price negotiations with service vendors

Job Requirements:

• High diploma or above in IT, Computer Science or related discipline
• With at least 5 years of IT Infrastructure/operation experience, with at least 3-years in substantial size of data center. Candidates with less experience will be considered as Officer.
• Professional experience and qualifications on network system and security system is preferred, such as CCNA(R&S), CCNP(R&S) or MCSA
• Good knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), WLAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, firewall, LAN switching ,IP routing and WINS
• Good at troubleshooting skills on networking issues and incidents
• Able to work independently, self-motivated, with good communication skills and a can-do attitude
• Exposure to various network systems, knowledge of Windows, Linux and VMWARE is a plus
• Experience of network revamp is a plus
• Familiar with ISO 27001 protocol, developing and implementing IT control and log management process
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
