Research Associate Director, Economics

The client is now seeking an accomplished Research Associate Director, Economics, to develop strategic research themes, priorities projects, and oversee the implementation of research plans.

Main Duties & Responsibility:

Reporting to the Research Director, you will be responsible:

• Assisting the Research Director in strategizing and implementing research programs, including identifying key research topics and priorities and overseeing the execution of research plans.
• Leading and managing a variety of projects, employing effective methodologies and project management techniques to ensure prompt delivery of high-quality and impactful business research, with a special focus on Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Asia.
• Acting as a representative of the department in both internal and external engagements, collaborating with diverse stakeholders to enhance the operations, influence, and reputation of the organization.
• Monitoring market dynamics in Hong Kong and globally that influence Hong Kong's goods and services trade.
• Cultivating strong relationships with relevant government departments and other esteemed research institutions.
• Ensuring the timely delivery of research outcomes and regular deliverables, maintaining their quality and relevance.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Master's degree in Economics or equivalent
• Have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in renowned institutions, with at least 8 years in senior positions leading large research teams
• Demonstrated familiarity with international trade, multilateral and bilateral trade relations, and international trade-related laws and regulations.
• Strong knowledge of international politics and economics, China's economy, and Hong Kong economy.
• Display willingness to travel to diverse markets for research purposes.
• Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, with Mandarin proficiency considered a significant advantage.
