Who has applied for Director, Product Development (Building Toys) is not required to send your CV again as we will consider your application for this position if you don't have Construction - building toys (e.g. Lego, Mega Bloks) experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Recommend, develop and implement plans and objectives for his/her Product Development ("PD") teams
2. Manage all activities regarding new project development
3. Ensure meeting of project schedule by monitoring the development of new toys products, reviewing quotations, developing product manufacturing methods processes and materials used are within the parameters of original design concept & cost effectiveness
4. Monitor the quality requirements by developing products according to the Company's quality control standards
5. Ensure sufficient production capacity for potential orders by preparing appropriate tooling.
6. Support sourcing activities and product cost analysis
7. Keep teams and US updated of PD/engineering developing progress
8. Assign projects to Senior Project Manager / Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager and monitor their progress and communication between manufacturing vendors, internal teams and US colleagues
9. Contribute to the evaluation of technical capability of potential and existing vendors and recommend appropriate vendors based on overall capability, price and vendor assignment load
10. Ensure effective production rates and quality of products by providing ongoing engineering support to vendors, following up on product start-up.
11. Assist teammates in shorter new product development life cycle as well as product quality improvement
12. Keep Senior Management updated of all PD matters including new requirement of safety regulation, production troublesome and so on
13. Protect company asset / information including sourcing channels, design, cost information, production capacity, production lead-time and vendor information through explicit or implicit methods - e.g. sign confidentiality agreement, implement procedure
14. Monitor and evaluate vendor's performance to ensure its performance is up to company's expectations
15. Provide direction to and develop the team members via on-the-job training, effective work process and counselling                                             
16. Counsel with other team leaders on new policy and ensure its implementation                                                     
17. Manage the sample room's operation and monitor the sample room staff's job content and performance
18. Assist Senior Director to develop, implement and maintain strategic plan on vendor management
19. Perform other duties as assigned by the Top Management 

Requirements: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is essential, Master's Degree in relevant subject will be an advantage                                                           
•  At least 10 years' experience in plastic building toys products, plus additional 5 years managerial experience in Director level
• Less experience will be considered as Senior Manager
• Familiar with U.S., Europe and other major int'l market's quality and safety requirement on building toys                                                                
• Innovator, achiever, developer and problem solver
• Self-motivated with strong managerial skill, interpersonal & communication skill                                                             
• Result-and-profit oriented with ability to balance other business considerations                                                              
• Excellent command of spoken and written English, and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)       
• Knowledge in CAD software                                                  
• Willing to station Dongguan/HK Offices
• Willing to frequent travel overseas production locations in Southeast Asia
