Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

As a Senior HR and Payroll Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing the end-to-end payroll process for a country in Asia. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accurate and timely payroll-related tax submissions, reconciling balance sheets, and maintaining payroll controls. Additionally, you’ll handle certain HR administrative processes that impact payroll and actively participate in system implementation project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the entire payroll process, including employees onboarding and offboarding process, monthly salary calculations, and ensuring accurate payments.
  • Ensure payroll related tax submission processes are performed with timeliness and accuracy 
  • Reconcile payroll accounts in the general ledger, resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain payroll controls for smooth transactions (e.g., handling starters, leavers, and position changes etc.).
  • Generate and analyse payroll reports (e.g., tax reports, headcount reports).
  • Provide insights to management based on payroll data.
  • Manage certain HR admin process that affects payroll.
  • Management of the employee personnel folders.
  • Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Support the business through compliance audits internally and externally 
  • Stay up to date with local labour laws, tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing in alignment with legal guidelines.
  • Participate in system implementation project that will be on the horizon.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher with minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience (Payroll or Accounting)
  • Supervisory experience is more welcomed
  • Fluency in Cantonese and English
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Be able to keep confidentiality at all time
