The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for the provision of desirable services for students of the University and enhancing their learning experience. We are now looking for a capable, self-motivated and organised individual to fill the position of Manager (Career Development) in the Career Planning & Leadership Development Division. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team dedicated to fostering whole-person development and a vibrant campus life of students. Reporting to the Associate Director, the appointee will work together with the whole team and will mainly focus on the following areas:
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive career advice and guidance to postgraduate and undergraduate students, building positive and professional relationships
- Implement and oversee internship programmes and other career development initiatives to support student career success
- Collaborate with internal departments to deliver holistic career support services for students, and nurture existing relationships while developing new sustainable partnerships with corporate partners and employers
- Work closely with the University’s Career Development Committee to proactively engage companies and secure career opportunities for students
- Play a key supporting role in the delivery of career-related projects and programmes, ensuring milestones are met
- Plan and organise leadership development programmes and activities for students, both existing and new
- Analyse graduate employment survey data to provide recommendations for strengthening the career development support
- To act as secretary of the University committee(s) as and when necessary
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s), including occasional travel and work outside normal office hours
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree with at least 10 years’ experience in managing and delivering career and training services, preferably in the tertiary education sector
- Substantial experience in career development, student services, or a related field within a higher education setting
- Excellent proficiency in written and verbal English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with experience in data analysis and reporting
- Proficient in the use of relevant software and tools for career development, project management, and programme delivery
- Passionate about student development and success
- Committed to continuous improvement in career services
- A high calibre to work under tight timelines with a positive attitude
Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.
Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
