We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:
Part-time Executive Assistant (Project) (A&SS) (Ref: 24001LH)
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The appointee will assist the project team in a teaching and learning enhancement project, which aims to enhance students’ English proficiency through creative writing. The appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
- Providing support in the organization of all project events, including a competition, masterclasses, poetry reading(s), an awards ceremony, and an exhibition;
- Assisting in the promotion of all project events, including designing promotional materials;
- Facilitating effective communication with different stakeholders;
- Assisting in the editing, publishing and promotion of an anthology;
- Assisting in the curation and setup of a digital art exhibition;
- Supporting the project team in managing the budget and tracking expenses;
- Collecting and analysing feedback and tracking the success of each expected deliverable, and
- Performing other duties as assigned by the project team.
Candidates
Candidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
- A bachelor’s degree in Humanities, English, Creative Writing, and/or a related discipline;
- A good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and ideally, Mandarin);
- Self-motivation, adaptability, and good interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to meet tight deadlines, and work independently as well as in a team;
- Proficiency in English and Chinese word processing, PC applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and graphic design and/or video-editing software;
- Experience in providing administrative, logistical, editorial, and/or research assistance will be an advantage.
Terms and Conditions for Appointment
Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary part-time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with the statutory provisions.
The successful candidate will work for not more than 17 hours per week for one year from August 2024 to July 2025. The appointment may be renewed subject to work performance and mutual agreement. Payment will be made on an hourly basis.
