Applications are invited for the above vacancy in Civil Construction Section of Civil Branch in Transmission Department. Reporting to the Senior Civil Engineer, the appointee will be responsible for duties including but not limited to the following:

• Monitor contractors on civil construction of proposed transmission substations and/or civil modification works 
• Conduct audit checks and regular site inspections to ensure works  complying with approved work procedures, safety requirements, related specifications, proper risk mitigation measures, quality standards and statutory requirements
• Support to plan and coordinate project works. Liaise and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure site activities meeting performance targets 
• Liaise with internal users for project handover and maintenance requirements
• Report on site quality issues and follow up quality improvement
• Carry out other duties, including participating in safety promotion activities, driving, record updating, reporting writing, assigned by supervisor as and when required

Requirements:

• Higher Certificate / Higher Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent plus 2 years’ relevant experience OR Ordinary Certificate / Ordinary Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent plus 4 years’ relevant experience 
• Valid Driving License class 1/1A. For CLP staff, Company Authorized Driver is required
• Good understanding of Safety Rules, relevant statutory requirements, code of practices and relevant procedures
• Good understanding of Safe Systems of Work, operational safety, and manual handling standards
• Ability to work independently and to communicate in English and Chinese, both verbal and written
• Good supervisory, problem solving & influencing skills
• Ability to use simple PC applications, e.g., MS outlook, word, excel etc.
• Demonstration of safety awareness, teamwork, and customer orientation

Candidate with less qualification and/or experience but has shown good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
