Job Description

ERM seeks an exceptional individual to join as a Consulting Senior Associate in our Capital Projects' International Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Team, based in Hong Kong. The role will support our ESIA Projects, led out of the Hong Kong office in locations throughout the world, with a focus on renewables and mining where appropriate.

 

SCOPE:

In this role, you will be part of a team tasked to contribute to the development and growth of ERM’s Capital Project Delivery business. Ideal candidates will be enthusiastic, energetic and good communicators who are comfortable working in active teams tackling rewarding challenges.

 

You must have a passion for environmental and social issues and sustainability. You must be a persuasive communicator (both verbal and written), with a good understanding of different cultures. An ability to speak different languages would be beneficial. You will have the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of projects in a variety of sectors delivering sustainable solutions to clients.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must have a postgraduate qualification in an environmental/sustainability discipline;
  • Possess a good understanding of the whole cycle of Impact Assessment, including experience of baseline data collection, impact assessment reporting, and/or implementation of mitigation measures;
  • Knowledge and experience in international standards such as those promoted by the World Bank, IFC, ADB, AIIB, and Equator Principal Banks would be an asset;
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in an international consultancy, industry, government, or environmentally focused non-governmental organization would be an advantage;
  • A strong ability to converse and write accurately in English, particularly for report writing, is a fundamental requirement;
  • Other languages will be considered an asset;
  • Ability to drive execution, multi-task, learn quickly and think strategically;
  • Ability to maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision; and
  • The candidate would preferably be based in Hong Kong
