Job Description
Key Responsibility
- Assist the Head of Trade Finance Product and Head of Transaction Banking (“TB”) in formulating and delivering the strategies to drive the Trade Business including Supply Chain Financing (“SCF”) for the Bank.
- Meet the quantitative and qualitative performance objectives for Trade Product and TB team.
- Formulate short, medium and long term development plans for Trade and SCF products.
- Ensure reviews of SCF and existing trade products are submitted to the New Product Governance (“NPG”) department for approval within the stipulated deadlines.
- Manage internal stakeholders (e.g. Legal, Compliance, Operations, Information Technology, TB Sales, Relationship Managers, Credit Risk team, etc.) and external stakeholders (e.g. the Bank’s clients, SCF vendors, external legal, etc.) in driving the Trade and SCF’s initiatives.
- Liaise with Insurers where relevant.
- Understand and adhere to internal policies and requirements especially risk and operations policies, ensure proper documentation and approvals are obtained; able to translate the policies and regulatory requirements in daily operations to ensure compliance.
- Keep abreast with market development and changes and be able to anticipate the on-the-ground plans to steer the business ahead for major global changes in regulations, digital evolution or other events that will affect SCF and trade financing. Assist to size the market and ensure market share is constantly increasing to the expected level.
- Share market development and competitive product offerings i.e. market updates and insights with stakeholders.
- Assist to make use of analytics to obtain insights to drive the SCF and trade business.
- Assist TB Sales in innovative campaigns to keep SCF and trade utilization high.
- Work with Trade vendor and the Bank’s Internet Banking team as well as other internal stakeholders on the interfacing of applications for accurate reporting as well as for clients to submit application and documents electronically (including Application Programming Interface / API).
- Conduct regular training sessions to internal stakeholders on SCF and trade.
Requirement
- Degree holder in Business Administration or related disciplines.
- Minimum 7 years of banking experience with at least 5 years in SCF deal structuring, development and / or implementation.
- Solid understanding of credit for SCF and Trade Finance with experience working with TB Sales, Relationship Managers and Credit to agree on mitigations in structuring SCF and trade solutions as well as interpreting relevant legal documents.
- Knowledge of RWA - the impact on SCF and Trade products and maximize the usage to grow the SCF and trade portfolio.
- Knowledge of latest market development and industry best practices in daily operations.
- Good analytical, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
