Job Description

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) is charged with the responsibility for maintaining the stability and integrity of the monetary and financial systems of Hong Kong.

The HKMA currently embarks on a multi-year Digitalisation Programme that cuts across multiple functions, including banking and anti-money laundering supervision, financial stability surveillance, research and investment, with the aim of using technologies and data science to help us identify emerging risks and trends in a more forward-looking manner.

There are now excellent opportunities for eligible candidates to apply for the following position to work under the Digitalisation Programme:

Associate Director – Digital Enablement

Key Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Director of Business Enablement, you will be driving digital products development and process optimisation with various HKMA departments to transform and adopt digital capability through continuous innovation
  • Act as the Digital Enablement Specialist and work closely with business leaders to identify key improvement levers and focus areas to drive operational efficiency, mitigate risks and improve user experiences
  • Analyse business needs to formulate use cases; collaborate with engineering teams to recommend suitable tools to users to bring business values
  • Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to capture requirements and establish a feedback loop to channel the input to the engineering teams, thereby facilitating the iterative refinement of the products to align with evolving business needs precisely
  • Facilitate baseline identification and agree on a target operating model in partnership with external consultants, internal business and technology stakeholders, in alignment with the digital strategy
  • Engage stakeholders across multiple business areas through clear communication, managing their understanding, expectations and involvement; resolve conflicting priorities and requirements
  • Requirements

  • University degree in business, computer science, engineering or related fields
  • At least three years of experience in technology, operations or business transformation with proven experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, e.g. engineering, product, and business teams
  • Demonstrable experience in gaining buy-in and influencing business stakeholders, ability to convey key strategic messages, with strong communication skills and ability to influence and network both internally and externally
  • In depth understanding of the linkage between technology and operation. Experience and knowledge in front-to-back investment operations, central bank operations or financial institution operations highly preferred
  • Experience in data collection, automation, data analytics, and client-facing role or management consultancy highly preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills; self-motivated, creative and with proven track record in developing and driving firm-wide initiatives
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills
  • (Candidates with less experience may be considered for an offer of appointment at Assistant Manager level.)

  • Appointment will be made on fixed contract terms
  • A competitive remuneration package will be offered.  There is flexibility to take account of additional experience and qualifications
