Job Description
Manager, Product Development Actuary (Life)
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Development Actuary for a leading Life Insurance company. As a Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of new insurance products, enhancing existing offerings, and ensuring that all products align with regulatory requirements and market needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong actuarial background, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for innovation in product development.
Position Responsibilities
- Serve as a second man to the Team Head
- Lead the product development process for life and health insurance products, from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with business strategy and customer needs.
- Conduct thorough actuarial analysis and modeling to evaluate product profitability, pricing structures, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, sales, marketing, and operations, to facilitate successful product launches and ongoing management.
- Monitor market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes to inform product development strategies and enhancements.
- Prepare and present product proposals, pricing models, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders, communicating complex actuarial concepts in an understandable manner.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and actuarial standards related to product development and pricing.
- Mentor and develop junior actuarial staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in product development processes and methodologies.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field; professional actuarial designation (e.g., FIA, FSA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in product development and actuarial practice, preferably within the insurance industry.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in actuarial software and programming languages (e.g., Excel, R, Python, or SAS).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.
- A strong understanding of insurance products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
