The Academic Registry is one of the crucial administrative functions providing best-practice academic and student related administration in support of the University’s mission in teaching, research and social-economic development of Hong Kong.

Reporting to the Associate Academic Registrar, the Senior Manager (Registry) is a key position in the University’s Academic Registry.  The post holder needs to be an experienced higher education administrator with a track-record of successfully managing and delivering efficient and fit-for-purpose administrative services. They should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to manage and oversee the work of several teams, as well as effectively liaise with colleagues throughout the whole University.

The appointee is expected to contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality Registry services and the adoption of best-practice processes and systems that take the Registry to the next level of success.  Initial responsibilities will include taking over the management of selected sub-teams within the Registry, undertaking business process reviews aiming at automating manual processes, and ensuring full written documentation of all business processes.  Ultimately the post holder will take over day-to-day operational responsibility for all teams reporting to the Associate Academic Registrar. 

Applicants should possess at least a bachelor’s degree with substantial number of years of relevant work experience within University administration.  Experience in leading the planning and implementation of student systems is required. Excellent and demonstrable leadership, management, technical, analytical, decision-making, communication, inter-personal and negotiation skills are required.  Proficiency in both English and Chinese is required. Relevant work experience in Hong Kong will be a definite advantage. (Duration: 2 years, renewable on mutual agreement)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.  Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.  Housing benefits will also be provided where applicable. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
