Job Description
Senior Actuarial Manager (Health)
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Actuarial Manager specializing in health pricing to join our client, a leading insurance company. You will play a crucial role in leading a team and providing expert actuarial pricing support for the company's health insurance products.
Position Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of three actuarial professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management to ensure the team's success.
- Collaborate with the team head to develop and implement the actuarial pricing strategy for health insurance products, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Conduct pricing analysis and develop pricing models for health insurance products, incorporating factors such as claims experience, risk assessment, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Evaluate and analyze data to assess pricing adequacy, profitability, and competitiveness of health insurance products.
- Monitor and review pricing assumptions, methodologies, and models, ensuring compliance with actuarial standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, product development, and finance, to provide actuarial expertise and support product enhancements and new product launches.
- Conduct regular reviews of pricing performance, identifying areas for improvement and recommending pricing adjustments when necessary.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory changes related to health insurance and actuarial practices, providing insights and recommendations to optimize pricing strategies.
- Support the development and implementation of pricing tools, systems, and processes to enhance pricing efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and actuarial standards, maintaining a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field. Professional actuarial qualifications are required.
- Minimum of 8 years of actuarial pricing experience, with a strong focus on health insurance products.
- Proven experience in leading a team of actuarial professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management.
- Strong technical knowledge and expertise in actuarial pricing methodologies and models, specifically in the health insurance domain.
- Ability to analyze complex data sets, perform pricing calculations, and interpret results to support decision-making.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to health insurance pricing.
- Excellent understanding of risk assessment, claims experience analysis, and profitability assessment in health insurance pricing.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy and analytical thinking.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English is a must
