Our client is one of the leading China based IT consulting and financial services company with dynamic and professional working environment. They are expanding their business in Asia, a new headcount – General Counsel has been created to lead the legal and compliance team across different regions including PRC Mainland, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Responsibilities:

• Reporting to the CEO, you will be working independently in Hong Kong office
• Reviewing all internal polices and strategies for legal and compliance teams
• Ensuring the compliance standard for different regions and minimize the potential legal risks for the group level
• Closely working with external legal counsels to manage all aspects of litigation and disputes cases
• Providing strategic direction and advisory on taking legal actions
• Providing legal advisory on other commercial area including corporate governance, employment and intellectual property matters
• Overseeing the due diligence processes in M&A work
• Managing ad hoc legal projects such as developing new markets 

Requirements:

• Qualified lawyer with 10+ PQE from financial services companies / banks and good understanding of corporate and commercial law
• Knowledge of crypto / fin-tech services and solid experience in commercial litigation required 
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Business level of spoken Mandarin is a must)
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and presentation skills and good business sense required
• Welcome experienced lawyers from private practice with related work exposure
