Job Description

CULTURE PROMOTION AND EVENTS OFFICE

Technical Officer (Audio) (Ref. 240926002-IE)

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) assist in providing technical support to the multi-purpose 1025-seat Jockey Club Auditorium and 244-seat Chiang Chen Studio Theatre and production of diversified events;

(b) take charge in the day-to-day operations and management of the venue technical facilities;

(c) be responsible for the audio system of the venues and perform other technical support services, including but not limited to lighting and stage management systems, and on rotational basis to ensure the delivery of professional technical service and smooth operation of the venues;

(d) be responsible for the production of various arts and culture events of the office;

(e) provide and ensure the proper repair and maintenance of all venue facilities; 

(f) liaise with venue hirers to resolve technical issues; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of the Office or his/her delegates.

The appointee will be required to work on irregular hours as well as on Saturdays/Sundays/public holidays.

Qualifications

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised degree with relevant disciplines, or a diploma/certificate of The Hong Kong Academy for Performance Arts plus not less than three years of relevant experience in audio operation and design in performing venues OR five passes in HKCEE including English Language (at least Grade C if Syllabus A; Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards), Chinese Language (Level 2 if results are obtained from 2007 onwards) and Mathematics plus not less than eight years of experience in aforesaid fields;

(b) knowledge of stage management, theatre lighting, sound, audio-visual and/or film projection;

(c) a good command of English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua being an advantage;

(d) good interpersonal skills; and

(e) good computer literacy, with proficiency in AutoCAD 2008 Standalone version.

Conditions of Service 

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered.  Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract.  Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
