Job Description
OneDegree is an InsurTech company, with a virtual insurer license granted by the Hong Kong Insurance Authority in 2020 Since then, we have grown quickly into the leading Hong Kong virtual insurer with an ambition to bring consumers a seamless and instant insurance and claim experience through technology. We currently offer multi-line digital insurance products, including pet, medical, fire and home insurance for individuals, and cyber security and digital asset insurance for enterprise businesses.
Want to join us and make a change? We are looking for a Head of Claims in building great General Insurance (for personal lines’ claim, e.g., Home & Pet) that protect our customers and their loved ones!

What you will be doing:
- Manage a team of claim and hotline staff, to assess and approve new claims/complaint cases/complicated cases within the authority and manage customer expectations by offering flexible solutions.
- Provide regular training and support to enhance the professional knowledge and standards of the team.
- Work effectively and efficiently with cross-functional departments and external parties to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned with company strategy.
- Ensure effective and efficient operation procedures and services are delivered in accordance with the Company's standards.
- Provide recommendations and engage in projects to enhance internal workflows.
- Coordinate and assist in UAT activities such as preparation of test plan, test cases, pre-UAT quality check, monitoring of bug fixing, retest progress, UAT reports and post-implementation monitoring.
- Provide managerial advice and feedback to streamline procedures and workflow.
What we are looking for:
- 10+ years of experience in GI claim processing including 5+ years in managerial positions
- Customer-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of responsibility with a high level of integrity and trust
- Good communication and time management skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel), and Chinese word processing is necessary.
- Excellent command of spoken and written in English and Chinese
- Strong team player, willing to learn, able to work independently and under pressure
- Highly organized self-starter, capable of leading multiple projects to meet tight deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment
- Candidates with less experience will be considered as Senior Claims Manager
- Immediate availability is highly preferred
