Job Description

Job requirement

  • A Bachelor degree from a local university or equivalent;
  • A minimum of 2 years’ full-time experience with at least 1 year in supervisory role of venue, facilities or estate management, or in customer services industry, preferably working experience in building management and/or venue operations in the Government Department or cultural sector;
  • Level 2 or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the HKDSE or the HKCEE, or equivalent;
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Cantonese;
  • Conversant in computer software; and

Job duties

  • To assist in the supervision of front-of-house services and venue operation of the Hong Kong Central Library (HKCL) and its hiring facilities, and to facilitate opening ceremonies and hirers’ events held at the hiring facilities on G/F and the Exhibition & Activates Area on 1/F of HKCL;
  • To assist in contract management, including security, cleaning, building management services, and to handle contractor staff management;
  • To assist in the preparation and execution of the Municipal Solid Waste Charging Scheme for HKCL, including but not limited to inspections, record keeping and administrative works related to waste management and recyclables collection services of HKCL;
  • To coordinate with Moreton Terrace Activities Centre (MTAC) on issues such as crowd control, operations and car park arrangement of MTAC events;
  • To rotate with other Assistant Managers to act as Duty Manager during the opening hours of the HKCL and its hiring facilities to ensure efficient front-of-house services and to enforce civic centre regulations, standing house rules and instructions;
  • To assist in handling public enquiries and complaints related to building and house management, and to supervise the work of supporting staff of the Building and House Management Unit;
  • To provide support in building projects, including liaison, planning and execution with services departments and other related parties when required; and
  • To prepare reutn and collate statistics, and perform any other duties as assigned by senior officers of HKCL
