Job Description
Reports to: Head of Cathay Academy – Leadership & Organization Development
Department: Cathay Academy (CXA)
This role leads the operations of Cathay Academy, which includes rostering, demand planning, administrative support and managing the facilities at Cathay Academy. A key performance metric of this role is the efficiency improvement of processes via a systemic approach in identifying, analyzing, and enhancing existing process to achieve better overall effectiveness.
Through utilizing process improvement methodologies, this person should provide a structured framework and tools to guide their stakeholders through continuous process improvement journeys. These should help in streamlining processes, eliminating waste, reducing errors, enhancing customer satisfaction and achieving sustainable improvements in our team’s performance.
An important responsibility of this role is to manage Cathay Academy’s training facilities include training classrooms and the physical mock-up for inflight crew training. This requires planning and organizing of resources as well as understanding and meeting our stakeholders’ current and future needs. Our Academy facilities should be well-managed and conducive to a professional learning environment that supports the training objectives and participants satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Facility Operations and Learning Support Management:
- Lead Cathay Academy’s operations on resource planning, facility management, budget control, onsite learning support to ensure a world-class learning experience at the Academy’s premises.
- Lead a team that provides centralized and standardized learning support functions for the benefit of the Customer Experience and Leadership & Organization Development teams.
- Lead a team to manage and continuously improve training facilities which includes facility planning, set up, equipment and technology, resource management, logistics and support services, cleanliness and maintenance, customer service and continuous improvements.
- Deputize Head of Cathay Academy when required.
Efficiency improvement and Process Modernization:
- Identify areas of inefficiency and develop strategies to improve operational processes using the latest technologies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate facility utilization and identify opportunities for optimization through technology-driven solutions.
- Implement innovative technology solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of facility operations, such as automation tools, data analytics, and real-time monitoring systems.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicator (KPIs) to track progress and measure the success of technology-driven efficiency improvement initiatives.
Training Logistics and Resource Optimization:
- Identify and source tools and systems to optimize training logistics, including scheduling, resource allocation and participant management.
- Implement technology-driven solutions to enhance the allocation of training rooms, equipment, and resources for seamless training delivery.
Technology Modernization and Innovation:
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancement in facility management technology and identify opportunities for modernization and innovation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the development and implementation of technologies aligns with business goals and objectives.
- Managing projects related to technology implementation, including planning, budgeting, vendor selection and implementation oversight.
Requirements
- Degree holder, preferably related to education / training related discipline
- Minimum of 8 years’ working experience in operations and process improvements
- Passion for people, culture and continuous improvement
- Lean qualification and experience preferred, with a proven track record of successfully leading operational efficiency improvement projects and delivering tangible results
- Proficiency in using facility management software, technology tools, and data analytics platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with experience in data analysis and interpretation.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Strong leader of a team to ensure the process runs effectively and efficiently
