Job Description

Role & Objective:

  • Direct and develop a number of accounts within the company at the correct level of profitability and to the accepted standard
  • Lead the group’s day-to-day functions in the absence of the group director
  • Plan, organise, control and lead the activities of a group of account executives, consultants, senior consultants and support staff, to achieve the required objectives of client activities within agreed budgets and timetables
  • Manage and be responsible for client budget to ensure contract profitability
  • Recommend fee and profitability and participate in budget negotiation with clients
  • Monitor and check client contracts in team to ensure proper administrative conduct and compliance with the Company’s policy
  • Develop relevant PR activities and strategies for clients including seeking opportunities to provide added-value service and facilitate cross support and cross marketing
  • Act as frontline senior counsellor to clients
  • Review all group work on assigned accounts and take responsibility for all activities conducted by the firm on behalf of assigned clients
  • Ensure all accounts are maintained within budget and time constraints, and resolve any problems
  • Assure all client files are complete, up-to-date, easily accessible and neat
  • Ensure clients are provided weekly activity updates or reports and that monthly review meetings are held
  • Maintain contact with all clients within the group, ensuring involvement of client senior management wherever possible
  • Keep Director aware of all client developments, opportunities and potential problems
  • Make recommendations to Director on client activities. Make firm recommendations to clients even when those recommendations may be contrary to a client’s intended course of action
  • Make recommendations to Director on amending existing client programmes
  • Be familiar with the Company’s terms of business and standard client contract
  • Hold regular internal and external client review meetings
  • Actively seek and secure new business.  Take a leading role in putting together new business proposals and presentations
  • Help ensure good business practice on behalf of the company towards its clients and suppliers
  • Participate in staff training and development of the group
  • Provide input for subordinates’ performance reviews

 

Experience & Competencies:

  • Former journalist with Hong Kong or regional media with 5+ years’ experience, preferably in a major international news service or business news publication or television in Asia,
  • Excellent spoken and written English, Chinese a strong advantage
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
  • Ability to interact with senior executives and provide sound advice and counsel
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Able to work professionally with teams across the Hong Kong office, Asia Pacific and globally
  • Willingness to travel around the region
  • Willingness or proven ability to grow and develop business
