Our client is looking for a Testing Manager for their Handbags & Accessories category to support compliance of Specialty Merchandise program by enforcing Company quality/ safety requirements and to avoid product recall liabilities/ complaint. This role enforces the brand’s adherence to regulations and testing requirements. Product scope includes but not limit to, Handbag, Jewelry and Homes products.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • To monitor and develop overall activities/ processes of product testing (Handbags & Accessories).
  • Work 3rd party service providers to identify applicable testing standards and requirements per country. Responsible for creation of product testing protocols.
  • Keep abreast of the new international standards and testing methods regarding to the products. Updating the requirements in the manual.
  • Execute and maintain the product testing standards and provide consultation for new testing standard if necessary
  • Provide comments for identifying potential product testing concerns and recommend solutions under Product Review and Risk Assessment process if necessary.
  • Provide consultation to sourcing team of failure test report analysis, recommendation and execution to follow if necessary
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policy, procedure and/ or guideline executed by vendors.

 

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent in Textiles, Chemical or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Product (Handbags & Accessories preferred) Testing industry with at least 3 years' experience in supervisory role
  • Strong technical knowledge of international testing & requirement.
  • Experience in product safety at a certified test laboratory, or at a major retailer, consumer products supplier
  • Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with all related parties.
  • Good knowledge of leather, fabrics, trims, finished accessories products
  • Good communication, problem solving & analysis skills
  • Able to perform well under work pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English and spoken Chinese, with Mandarin an advantage
  • Willing to travel
