Development and implementation of Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) annual business strategy and plans on to drive visitation within International markets portfolio (Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, India, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, Japan and Korea).  

This position will be responsible to develop the Go-to-Market strategies and plans in Marketing and Sales & Distribution Marketing for international markets. This will include formulating business strategies, translating strategies into Go-to-Market plans, defining communication and trade needs.

Responsibilities: 

  • Stay on top of the dynamics of the markets’ macro, economic, and political changes impact on the shift in destinations and translate them into impact on consumer behavior in spending, travel and destination shifts. Understand the dynamics of travel industry via actively reaching out to industry players and taking note of the impact from travel policy changes.
  • Size the market potentials of various international markets for recommending strategic priorities of markets through incorporating inputs from Revenue Management Analytics’s market demand projection, Consumer Insights’s research, Sales’ intelligence, etc.
  • Work with Consumer Insights to develop consumer understanding strategies and plans to track brand health measures or evaluate potentials to tap various consumer segments.
  • Conduct business reviews and apply the learning into business strategies and plans. Formulate and drive Go-to-market strategies and plans (including Annual Operating Plan) across individual markets to build HKDL attendance and revenue through driving international visitation and spending. Monitor and improve on an on-going basis. Portfolio-manage investments among markets and re-prioritize resources when the markets’ situation changes.
  • Work with Food & Beverage and Hotel to understand and align marketing support priorities, formulate marketing strategies and develop marketing plans as needed.
  • Provide leadership to other marketing disciplines to develop and implement marketing programs such that marketing initiatives can be executed in excellence to maximize return on investments.
  • Establish partnership with other functions (Sales, Revenue Management Analytics, Finance, Operations, etc) and cross functional work teams that support the launch of various events and new initiatives in the year.
  • Lead Finance and Revenue Management Analytics to manage and analyze the financial impact of the total marketing spending to maximize effectiveness.
  • Travel to key markets to drive key marketing and consumer insight initiatives and manage marketing representatives in Japan.
  • Develop and coach a team of marketing professionals to perform. 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree holder, preferable in Business; Or bachelor degree holder in other discipline with a MBA.
  • 10 years of marketing experience with 5 years in top-notched FMCG and minimum 2 years in retail industry (Travel Marketing preferred with SE Asia experience). Or Ad agency background in account servicing role with top-notched FMCG account exposure will also be considered.
  • Good leadership skill to form vision and drive business including aligning goals and moving projects towards goals with multifunctional teams.
  • Good analytical skills in data interpretation and higher order of thinking skills to draw conclusion between diverse facts and abstract situation which may be pointing at different direction.
  • Media know how to derive media brief and assessment on media recommendation.
  • Given the wide use of touch point marketing, needs to be equipped with disciplined training gained from conventional marketing for evaluating use of unconventional media. Especially international markets employ wide use of digital media.
  • Creative judgment (including conceptual and copy) for evaluating recommended creative work.
  • Regional work experience to appreciate the cultural differences across a spectrum of countries.
  • Tourism-related work experience to quickly comprehend the dynamics of travel behavior for adapting relevant sales and marketing strategies/plans.
  • Good command of spoken and written Cantonese and English is required; while Putonghua is preferred.
