Job Description

 

The Territory Sales Manager will have previous Public Safety or Military experience.  It is also desirable to have experience in outside sales, be comfortable interacting with government and law enforcement agencies.  It is important to be able to engage with key individuals inside and outside the 5.11 organization in Central Asia and in the United States.

 

The Job:

  • Serve as the 5.11 liaison and strategic partner within the 5.11 dealer network in-territory by developing and achieving annual sales plans with existing dealers;
  • Propose expansion plans with existing dealers and/or identify and open new dealers and sales channels while maintaining appropriate and profitable marketing territories for all dealers in the 5.11 network;
  • Market management - Conduct regular dealer business reviews and market visits;
  • Product Mix -- Recommend appropriate product assortment and new product recommendations for the territory;
  • Forecasting – Develop monthly/annual forecasts for 5.11 products in the market;
  • Marketing – Work closely with the merchandising staff to provide input on the5.11 Marketing Promotion calendar for the territory to include catalog distribution, product promotions, co-op advertising, and other media outreach;
  • Pricing – Develop pricing recommendations and strategy for the territory including consumer price and dealer prices/discount programs for different countries and currencies;
  • Trade Shows – Identify relevant trade shows for the market, develop an annual calendar and ensure 5.11 is represented appropriately;
  • Merchandising – Establish and communicate merchandising standards with dealer network, develop and track 5.11 merchandising units placed within dealer locations in the market, and the proposed annual expansion plan/ROI for new units to be placed;
  • Special Development Group/Agency specific custom uniforms – Identify priority Contract/SDG opportunities with government or target end-user organizations. Serve as 5.11 representative with potential SDG customers;
  • Product Training – Develop expertise with 5.11 product portfolio in the market, and host product training sessions for dealers, sales associates and representatives in the market;
  • Lead and develop direct reports where applicable;
  • Other duties as assigned

 

The Person:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from an accredited institution;
  • 3-5 years of outside sales experience representing products in the tactical, outdoor or sporting goods industry in Asia Pacific and North Asia;
  • 3-5 years of Military or Public Safety experience a plus;
  • Strong knowledge and handling of tactical equipment and gear;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc);
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM software required;
  • Excellent spoken and written English, Cantonese & Mandarin;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as understanding of cultural business etiquette;
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Have a proven track record of strong leadership and relationship building experience;
  • Be available for extensive travel.
