Job Description

The Assistant Communications Officer is a member of the Communications Team in Fundraising and Communications Unit and reports to the Senior Communications Manager. S/He is required to work closely with other Communications Team members in the Mainland and Hong Kong, and also members of Fundraising and Communications Unit and other units of Oxfam Hong Kong (OHK).

Responsibilities:

  • To develop agency profiling in the Mainland China especially in the southern China region
  • To promote brand recognition and gauge public support for OHK and its work in the Mainland China and Hong Kong through organizing public events
  • To provide communications support for OHK’s programmes, advocacy / campaign in the Mainland China and Hong Kong
  • To work with other concerned teams of OHK to implement the branding strategies in the Mainland China and Hong Kong
  • To undertake any duties, as appropriate to the post, as delegated by the line-manager
  • Travelling to Mainland China will be required

Requirements:

  • Degree holder with at least 1-year working experience in communications or publicity
  • Working experience in the Mainland China a definite advantage
  • Experience in branding and events management preferred
  • Good communication skills in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
  • Good project management skills and interpersonal skills
  • Identification with OHK’s development philosophy, principles and objectives
  • Able to work well within a team environment as well as independently
