Job Description

We are currently looking for a communication expert to join Flight Operations Department as Assistant Flight Crew Communications Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for development and management of all communication channels with our cockpit crew.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review, re-engineer and maintain all key departmental communication materials and publications. 
  • Apply new communications tools to enhance communications with crew members
  • Manage the production and delivery of communication materials for cockpit crew in a cost-effective manner, ensuring synergy and consistency in style and content with other avenues of communication with cockpit crew
  • Utilise and develop all appropriate media to effectively disseminate industry, Company, Departmental and cockpit crew community information
  • Oversight of crew communication channels such as:
    • FOP website
    • FOP Crew Bulletins
    • FOP-produced magazines
    • Email communication to cockpit crew
  • Maintain high profile within the department and act as a central point for all internal communication
  • Develop a relationship with the cockpit crew community to open up communication channels
  • Assist in development and implementation of business briefing sessions involving the cockpit crew community
  • Responsible for overall FOP website content management, including visual style, text style, grammatical correctness and general consistency of the FOP website
  • Act as editorial screen for all externally and internally sourced content on the FOP website to ensure consistency with overall Cathay Pacific style
  • Provide editorial support for other Cathay Pacific internal marketing documents
  • Manage specific projects related to cockpit crew communication at the request of senior management

Requirements:

  • University degree, preferably in journalism, creative writing, communication or English
  • At least 5 years’ experience in editing or copy-writing, preferably with newspaper/magazine, internet and/or marketing content editing/copy-writing experience
  • Experience in Adobe InDesign / Photoshop / Illustrator would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of content management systems and other web publishing tools would be an advantage
  • Excellent English-language standard
  • Polished interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of cockpit crew community and cockpit crew lifestyle would be an advantage
  • Ability to establish contacts within the cockpit crew community
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Independent, detailed-oriented and able to work under pressure with tight deadlines
  • Team-player, creative, dynamic and innovative
