About the Job

Work with the Merchandising team to plan and control the quantitative aspects of the brand's merchandise effectively in order to assist the Company in achieving its strategic and financial goals;

 

Primary analytical support, provide ongoing analysis of the financial metrics that underpin the merchandise business unit; produce and analyse key performance reports and tools.

 

Technical lead in the team to manage new systems implementation and appropriate data management.

 

Manage planning tools and systems to be developed

 

Responsibilities:

Planning & Forecasting

  • Leading the development of standardised and automated Merchandise performance and reporting in conjunction with IT
  • Provide routine and ad hoc data analysis to identify commercial opportunities.
  • Supply accurate and timely data management for the product cycles and promotional planning processes
  • Create and identify business opportunities by reviewing and analysing sales forecasts and merchandise plans
  • Research and analyse historical data including post season analysis, analysis of store reports and feedback to produce projections and forecasts for product categories to assist planning, budgeting and decision making
  • Assist the Demand Planner and/or Merchandise Planner in developing unit buying plans for key items and forecasting item sales potential, and maintaining appropriate store inventory and turnover
  • Provide support through training, analysis and recommendations to the Purchasing team throughout the season
  • Manage the production of the financial, OTB and trending reports

Open to Buy (OTB) Management

  • Analyse, plan, forecast and re-forecast stock requirements to meet the brand’s financial budget at department, category and store level
  • Establish target sales, margin markdowns/ups, receipts and inventory levels in unit and dollars
  • Maximise revenue, margin and sell-through performance
  • Execute a merchandise plan by season / month / week / category / dept. / store, ensuring that the plan is balanced, realistic and reactive to trend and market conditions

People Leadership & Development

  • Communicate with different stakeholders to analyse, translate, define and document business requirements
  • Lead by example – support, coach, motivate and engage the team to be high performers and reach company and team goals
  • Adopt a collaborative approach to performance and development, setting targets and objectives and plans for building competency and increasing skill and knowledge

General Duties

  • Attend to ad hoc duties as requested by your direct manager or the executive team in a diligent and timely manner
  • Actively promote and lead by example PANDORA values


Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access)
  • Proficient in allocation and merchandise systems
  • Experienced in using a planning tools & systems to be developed

Education / Experience / Requirements

  • Relevant degree in a numeric or business management discipline
  • Minimum 5+ years planning at a senior level
  • Analytical ability, numeric accuracy and attention to detail
  • Merchant mentality and commercial smarts
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Works wells and responds under pressure
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to work and multi task in a changing and fast paced environment
  • Candidates with less experience will be considered as Assistant Merchandise Planning Manager
  • People management skill will be desirable but not a must
