Work directly with the Divisional Merchandise Manager, focusing on developing Asian wide regional strategies to achieve the financial and category targets – including running a promotional calendar, cultivating and leveraging vendor relationships, offering a compelling and differentiated Customer offer, travel to trade shows to identify and recruit new vendors, guide and coordinate merchandise projects, championing process change and effectively manage stakeholders and timelines.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze data and consumer buying patterns and predicting future trends to provide recommendations to support retail buying strategies.
• Regularly review performance indicators and manage plans for stock levels;
• React to changes in demand and logistics; Meet suppliers and negotiate terms of contract;
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and source new suppliers for future products; Liaise with other departments within the organization to ensure projects are completed;
• Participate in promotional activities; Write reports and forecast sales levels; Present new ranges to country Buying Managers;
• Liaise with store team members to ensure product/collection supply meets demand; Seek merchandise feedback from customers;
• Train and mentor junior staff.

Requirements:

• Tertiary education in retail or related disciplines
• At least 5 of solid experience in retail buying or toy merchandising
• Previous experience of working in a sourcing or buying function would be an advantage; however we would also consider candidates who have evidence of supplier management and negotiation skills from within an FMCG or other fast-paced business environment.
• Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese, Mandarin speaking is an advantage
• Strong numerical sense and analytical mind, able to work independently with initiatives and attention to details, good communication skill, interpersonal skills and strong cross-functional working skills
