Legal Counsel

Responsibilities:

• Implementing the legal procedures required to affect the privileges, obligations, and rights of the organization.
• Reviewing and assessing all types of legal documents like contracts, leases, licenses, sales, purchases, and real estate etc.
• Leading and managing the legal work in relation to the Initial Public listing (IPO) in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange
• Registering copyrights for goods, services and trademarks of the organization.
• Gathering information and evidences for helping the management make decisions
• Studying legal information to know the suitability for prosecuting or defending a lawsuit.
• Conducting preparations before and, defending the organization in law cases.
• Examining material like publications, advertisements etc., for legal implications.
• Representing the organization before administrative and quasi-judicial bodies of the government.
• Advising the Company on government regulations, tax matters, and legal rights.
• Preparing contracts, resolve labor issues, manage legal matters, and handle taxes.
• Advising on business transactions related to internal affairs, directors, executives, stockholders, and corporate relationship with public.
• Provide legal and compliance training to employees on a regular basis.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Qualified to practice in HK with 5 yrs PQE with experience ideally from a reputable PP and with LLB or equivalent in a Commonwealth Jurisdiction.
• Energetic and able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Well versed in HK Initial public Listing (IPO) procedures and requirements
• Knowledge with energy sector and previous experience working as an in-house counsel is a plus.
• Skilled in drafting legal documents in both the English and Chinese languages, interpretation of law and regulations and in legal research.
