Job Description

The Marketing and PR Manager will oversee the development and implementation of all marketing promotion and publicity activities across multiple platforms that effectively promote the brand, events and products of the Society to the press, general public and film professionals.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with all departments for all marketing and communications requirements and develop strategic plan for long and short-term brand building, publicity plan for events and activities of the Society to enhance corporate image, ticket sales and audience development;
  • Develop and co-ordinate above- and below-the-line marketing promotion plans and schedule; and ensure the production quality and timeline are met;
  • Manage all corporate communications, brand equity, press and public relations on all media platforms including website content, electronic direct mailers, social networking sites and other digital media platforms;
  • Develop and maintain media relationships in Hong Kong and overseas including consumer and trade press;
  • Maximize media coverage by developing and executing strategic media campaigns including media planning for international film markets and festivals;
  • Secure media partners and sponsors to develop joint promotion opportunities;
  • Organize and manage press conferences, press junkets, journalist programmes and handle event media management;
  • Liaise with film companies for arranging talents to participate in the events;
  • Develop media angles for interviews, feature articles and special write-ups;
  • Monitor and liaise with overseas correspondents, PR firms, production houses and other relevant service providers;
  • Prepare presentations, speeches, press releases, electronic direct mailers, media and communications collateral and advertisements;
  • Tracking, recording and compiling all local and international press coverage and news-clippings from press outlets;
  • Maintenance of an effective press database and press accreditation management;
  • Prepare reports and analysis on brand and communications programmes, and prepare and co-ordinate the production of the festival reports and annual report; and
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor and/or management from time to time.

 

Requirements:

  • University graduate or equivalent. Concentration on Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or equivalent preferred;
  • At least 7 years relevance experience;
  • Background in film entertainment and press management for large scale events a plus;
  • Must be self-motivated, highly organized, results driven with superior inter-personal, communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Cantonese and Mandarin;
  • Proficiency of PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, proactively and to meet deadlines;
  • Required to work overtime and irregular hours including full-day work on weekends and public holidays during certain period.
