In the role of teacher, you will work closely with the teachers and founders of The Open Classroom to pioneer an innovative educational program for Hong Kong students.

For Grade 1-9 writing program (ages 6-15), we are specifically looking for teachers who can inspire students to develop a passion for writing. We welcome teachers who are committed to support students in refining and mastering their writing skills. Teachers should be knowledgeable in and experienced with teaching the components and techniques of different writing styles, while possessing the creative ability to build with engaging and challenging curriculums.

• Curriculum planning and development:
• Design and update curriculum materials, research new teaching resources and maintain up-to-date subject knowledge
• Select and use a range of different learning resources and equipment and keep abreast of developments in their field
  

Teaching:

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons
• Manage pupil behavior in the classroom and on school premises
  

Student assessment:

• Correct student work, give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and evaluation
• Liaise with parents on pupils’ performance and development
  

Qualifications

• Passion for teaching and inspiring children and making an impact on their learning
• High academic achievement (Bachelor’s Degree or higher) from a well recognized university
• Solid knowledge of and experience in teaching writing
• High proficiency in English, both written and oral
• Interested in learning about social issues and connecting with local NGOs
• Valid working visa or HKID
• Available to work on Saturdays
• Past teaching experience is valued, but not mandatory
