Administrative Officer (Ref. 140613-01)

 

Duties

 

The appointee will be required to: 

 

(a) take up a full range of general administrative services including purchasing, tendering, inventory control, house-keeping and maintenance, renovation and relocation, office automation and filing systems;

(b) liaise and coordinate with service providers, PolyU departments as well as academic and administrative staff on various office and campus management matters;

(c) assist in the upgrade of computer systems and the formulation, development and review of procedures related to office and campus management;

(d) plan and implement initiatives to achieve vigorous and environment-friendly office and campus environment, occupational health and safety at workplace;

(e) provide secretarial service to committees;

(f) supervise junior staff; and

(g) perform any other duties as assigned.

 

The appointee may station in either campus, and be required to take up assignments and work outside Hong Kong occasionally.

 

Qualifications

 

Applicants should have:

 

(a) a recognised degree preferably in property management, facilities management, or real estate related disciplines;

(b) at least five years’ relevant experience, preferably gained in the tertiary education sector;

(c) high proficiency in English and Chinese, and fluency in Putonghua;

(d) excellent interpersonal skills and confidence to communicate with people from all walks of life;

(e) a mind for details; and

(f) the calibre of a team leader as well as a team player.

 

Preference will be given to those with knowledge of corporate insurances, occupational health and safety, and environment-friendly initiatives. A good understanding of the post-secondary education scene in Hong Kong, in particular the self-financed sub-degree sector, will be an advantage.

 

Shortlisted candidates may be invited to sit for a written test.

 

Remuneration and Conditions of Service

 

Salary offered will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a two-year contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
