The Web Applications Analyst is responsible for the support and maintenance of HKIS’ web apps, e.g. www, DragonNet, LMS (Learning Management System), Gmail and Google Apps, and other academic related web apps. Assist in the design and development of web apps as needed by the school.

Key Responsibilities:

1. WWW, Dragonnet & LMS Support and Maintenance

• Provide technical support for HKIS’ public website and intranet (e.g. www, DragonNet), as well as LMS web apps for issues related to content upload, photos, security, administrative, and other web system matters;
• Assist with the implementation of the school’s public website, and work with vendors and consultants to ensure sufficient support is provided to meet project scope and requirements.

2. Google support

• Support and manage the school’s primary email and collaboration platforms – Gmail and Google Apps;
• Review new Apps to determine suitability for the school.

3. Web Application Support and Development

• Build and provide technical support for internal users, custom build web apps such as the Parent Teacher Conference sign-up system and the After School Activities system when needed;
• Responsible for the development of applications as required, and working closely with users to understand their needs, and articulate that in the development;
• Provide user training on developed applications as necessary.

4. Documentation

• Prepare and maintain proper technical documentation relevant for the necessary projects and web applications.
  
  
  

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education

• Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field

Experience

• 3 or more years relevant experience in web maintenance and development;
• Experience managing technical project time lines and goals;
• Experience designing and implementing application solutions;
• Experience writing system documentation;
• A working knowledge developing cross-browser web apps;
• Experience working in an education environment an advantage.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, HTML, Javascript, CSS, and AJAX, and any other current and commonly used web development languages;
• Proficiency with iOS and other mobile application development;
• Good communication and interpersonal skills;
• Good problem solving, judgment, and decision making skills;
• Ability to work on multiple projects independently;
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
